Questions people ask before moving
Does Sun City Texas have a poker club?
Yes. The Association lists a Poker Club. Use its official page for membership and game information. It is listed under Cards & games above, alongside bridge, mah jongg, billiards and table games.
What is the difference between a club, a SIG and an interest group?
The Association lists chartered clubs, with smaller special-interest groups nested under some clubs. For example, the Computer Club includes technology and genealogy SIGs. Independent interest groups have a separate Association directory. This guide keeps those distinctions visible.
Are club memberships and activities included in the HOA dues?
Generally speaking, yes—the community facilities are included in your HOA fee. Clubs charge modest annual membership dues to support their activities and incidental expenses, whether your interest is golf, stained glass, photography, woodworking or another club. For example, the Woodworkers Club charges $40 a year to help pay for glue, fasteners and other supplies members use on their projects. Some classes also charge a nominal fee to pay the instructor. Golf greens fees are separate and are not included in the HOA fee. Membership in a golf association does not include greens fees.
Can I explore groups before I become a resident?
Absolutely. Exploring clubs and activities is a great way to picture your life in Sun City. Let Rugg Realty be your guide during your visit: tell us what you enjoy, and we’ll help you learn about the groups, connect with club representatives and plan opportunities to explore activities that interest you. Some membership and registration tools require a resident login.
How do I find meeting times and join?
Follow the official link for the group that interests you. Its current page or the latest Sun Rays issue is the place to check meeting details and contact information. Confirm the arrangements before attending; schedules and officers can change.
What if I do not play golf—or I am moving on my own?
Explore cards, crafts, photography, languages, music, gardening and other interests. The Solos Club and Zoomers’ Zingles group are also places to investigate social connections. You can build a shortlist around what you enjoy rather than starting with golf.
Which part of Sun City fits the way you want to live?
We live here, we work here, and we play here. During your visit, let Rugg Realty be your guide to the community. Tell us which clubs and activities interest you, and we’ll help you explore the possibilities and connect with the right people as you discover Sun City.
